hey mom, this is your girl

thanking you for bringing me into this world

so this is to say

that this is your day

the mother that was and always will be mine

this the day that you shine

you try hard to lay off being man

you cook, do dishes, and clean

mom, i am aware

of the special bond we share

you know of the right pill

to give me when i'm ill

i thank you for all the things you do

you drive me places when you don't want to

i fully understand my personality

and i can't figure out why you put up with me

despite the reasons why you do the things you do

you are my one and only mother and i thank you
